ZACH Theatre Youth Programs

ZACH offers classes in acting, singing, and musical theatre that teach life skills through theatre training. Each class is a fun opportunity for students to learn how to express themselves creatively, build confidence, and celebrate collaboration. Please note, these classes focus on process over product. The semester ends with a demonstration where students perform for an invited audience of family and friends.

CLASSES

ZACH Theatre Broadway Kids: Sing I & II

(Ages 5-8 years old)

If you love Broadway and having fun – then this is the class for you! Students will learn the basics of musical theatre while working on confidence, creativity, and collaboration. Students will learn acting games, singing and musical theater techniques in order to bring selections of songs from the movie musical Sing to life. Please note, these classes focus on process (the skills of singing and movement) over product. The semester ends with a demonstration where students perform a selection of songs from Sing I & II for an invited audience.

ZACH Theatre Production Workshop: Matilda

(For grades 3rd-5th)

Revolting Children Unite! In this production based class, students will practice singing, acting, and musical theater techniques to work together and bring selections of songs and scenes from the musical Matilda to life. Additionally, students will enhance their production by designing their own costumes and props! Please note, these classes focus on process (the skills of musical theater) over product. The semester ends with a demonstration where students perform a selection of songs from Matilda for an invited audience.

ZACH Theatre Broadway Kids: Little Mermaid

(For ages 5-8 years old)

Head Under the Sea! Students will learn the basics of musical theatre while working on confidence, creativity, and collaboration! Students will engage in acting games, movement, arts & crafts and voice to work together to bring The Little Mermaid to life. Please note, these classes focus on process (the skills of singing and acting) over product. The semester ends with a demonstration where students perform a selection of songs from The Little Mermaid for an invited audience.

ZACH Theatre Improv

(For ages 8-12 years old)

This fun and fast paced class is great for actors at any level of their training. Through acting games and exercises students will learn how to say “yes” to ideas, create characters, make specific choices, and let go of judgement in order to reach their full creative potential. Please note, these classes focus on process (the skills of acting and improvisation) over product. The semester ends with a demonstration where students perform a selection of improvisation games and scenes for an invited audience.
