Babysitting at the JCC
Babysitting services are available to JCC Members while they are in the Sports & Fitness Facility. The Babysitting Room is open to children age 8 weeks to 8 years. Parents are encouraged to make reservations—spaces are limited. Call (512) 735-8000 up to one week in advance to reserve a slot.
Babysitting services cost $5 per hour, per FIRST child (half hour is $2.50), and $1 per hour for additional child per hour (0-60 minutes-no discount for quarter of 1/2 hours).
Additional half-hour increments are $1 per child. For the convenience of our Members, pre-paid babysitting cards are available at the Welcome Desk in increments of $1, $3, $10, $25, $50, and $100.
An Elite Membership includes free babysitting.
Reservations are taken on the hour and half hour. Reservations will be held 10 minutes after your reserved slot. After 10 minutes your reservation will be released. If a reservation must be cancelled, the Welcome Desk should be notified at least one hour prior to the reserved time slot. Failure to cancel a reservation will result in the parent being charged the full fee for the reserved time.
Attendance in the Babysitting room is restricted to 2 hours. After 125 minutes, a $5 fee will be imposed for each additional five minutes.
Food is generally not allowed in the Babysitting Room due to food allergies. Exceptions will be made for infants (2–6 months) whose parents have reserved the maximum two hour time limit. In such cases, the parent must provide the baby food, milk/juice, etc. and the necessary feeding time. Infants should not be dropped off unfed. All other children are allowed milk or juice, but not food. All items should be labeled with the child’s name.
Food is not allowed in the Babysitting Room. Bottles and spill-proof cups or juice boxes are acceptable.
Each child should come with an extra diaper or change of clothes.
If a child needs to be changed while in our care, we will send a staff person to locate the parent. We will only change clothes or diapers in an emergency.
Children showing any signs of sickness should not be brought to the Babysitting Room. If our staff believes a child is ill, the parent will be asked to remove him/her immediately.
Parents must be on campus during their reserved babysitting hour(s). No exceptions.
