Young Adult Division (YAD)
The Jewish Federation of Greater Austin's Young Adult Division (YAD) hosts various networking events designed to allow Austin’s Jewish professionals in their 20s and 30s to meet and socialize in an enjoyable and engaging setting. YAD also plans and promotes cultural programs such as holiday celebrations and takes part in community service projects. Since its launch in 2002, more than 1,000 people have joined YAD. YAD is for singles, couples and young families.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Austin 2014 Campaign is our Jewish community's primary annual philanthropic appeal. The Annual Campaign strengthens Jewish life and supports critical humanitarian needs in Austin, Israel and around the world. Sponsored by the Jewish Community Association of Austin, one of 200 Jewish Federations throughout North America, the Annual Campaign provides support for social service, outreach, educational, and community building programs.
YAD hosts various social events bringing together Jewish professionals in Austin to meet and socialize in a comfortable setting. Events include happy hours, dinner parties, outdoor programs and other activities around Austin. If you have any idea suggestions, share them with Arielle. We want to make this Jewish community, your community!
YAD organizes cultural celebrations for Jewish holidays, including Shabbat Dinners of 8 and Shul Hopping throughout the year. YAD also hosts a Channukah Party, Purim Party, Passover Seder and Break Fast during Yom Kippur each year. Additionally, YAD works in collaboration with other areas of the JCAA to participate in a variety of community-wide events. Annual events include the Austin Jewish Book Fair, the Tapestry of Jewish Learning, the Austin Jewish Film Festival and the Community Purim Carnival. Torah on Tap is also a favorite, providing a monthly opportunity to discuss Jewish topics with Austin’s clergy or Jewish Educators in a non-traditional setting.
Community Service Projects
YAD creates opportunities that allow members to give their time, energy, and/or money to the Austin community and the Jewish Federation of Greater Austin's Annual Campaign. YAD hosts an annual fundraiser called Milestone and also participates in the Campaign’s annual Super Week phone-a-thon. Additionally, YAD creates various community service activities throughout the year such as helping Front Steps, participating in the Souper Bowl of Caring and in Jewish Family Service's Volunteer for Seniors program.
