While no transmission of data over the Internet is guaranteed to be completely secure, the JCAA uses appropriate procedures to ensure the security and integrity of your personal information and to protect it from unauthorized access. In particular, when we ask you to enter credit card information, we use the top industry standard security protection, including encryption, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) transmission connection, and a secure server for information storage. Encryption keys are secured by Verisign. For more information on SSL and Web security, visit www.verisign.com. Due to the inherent nature of the Internet as an open global communications vehicle, any transmission of personal information is done at your own risk.
While on a secure page, the lock icon in the bottom of Web browers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to unlocked, or open, when you are just "surfing."

With identity theft a continuing problem, it has become increasingly common for unauthorized individuals to send e-mail messages to consumers, purporting to represent a legitimate company such as a bank or online merchant, requesting that the consumer provide personal, often sensitive information. Sometimes, the domain name of the e-mail address from which the e-mail appears to have been sent, and the domain name of the Web site requesting such information, appears to be the domain name of a legitimate, trusted company. In reality, such information may be collected by an unauthorized individual to be used for the purposes of identity theft. This illegal activity has come to be known as "phishing." If you receive an e-mail or other correspondence requesting that you provide any sensitive information (including your Web site password or credit card information) via e-mail or to a Web site that does not seem to be affiliated with ours, or that seems to be suspicious, please do not provide such information and report such a request to our Site Administrator.
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never knowingly collect or maintain personal information from children under the age of 13.
We provide links to other Web sites that we believe you will find useful. We ask you to recognize that JCAA is not responsible in any way for the policies or privacy practices of these other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site, and to read the privacy statements of each and every Web site that collects personally identifiable information that they might visit.
