Rabbi Rebecca Epstein works with the Jewish Federation of Greater Austin on Outreach and Engagement programming, including: PJ Library, a program which sends Jewish books to children through a partnership with the Harold Grinspoon Foundation.Mothers Circle, classes for women of other faith backgrounds who are raising Jewish children. Shabbat 'N Play at the J, an ongoing Friday morning playgroup and Shabbat experience for parents and children ages 0-3 Jewish meditation and yoga, classes in yoga and meditation infused with Jewish wisdom. Contact Rebecca at rebecca.epstein@shalomaustin.org.

 

Mothers Circle  Mothers of other backgrounds raising Jewish children
This program is offered once a month at Congregation Beth Israel (3901 Shoal Creek), providing free resources, education and events for women of other religious backgrounds raising  Jewish children. The PJ Library Ages 6 mos - 8 yrs
The PJ Library sends age appropriate Jewish books and music CDs once a month to your home for children ages eight and under. This program is FREE and helps you to build up your home Jewish library. Raising Jewish Kids in Austin Ages 0-5 yrs
These programs give your children the opportunity to interact with kids their own age while moms connect to other Jewish families. These free groups offer events, meetings, play dates, advice, and support for moms with young children. Dates and times are determined by the participants. Shabbat’N Play at the J Ages 0–3 yrs
Drop-in playtime at the JCC offers the opportunity for new parents and parents new to Austin to connect with others, and learn about the Jewish parenting community while their children learn, play and make new friends. Join us for demo classes, holiday crafts, PJ Library storytimes, and parent talks, as well as a weekly Tot Shabbat with blessings and songs led by local clergy. Toys and equipment suitable for newborns and toddlers are provided. Free and open to the community. Interfaith families are welcome. Sifriyat Pijama B’America sends age appropriate Jewish books and music CDs once a month to your home for children ages three to eight. This program is FREE and helps Hebrew speaking families to build up your home Jewish library. Families will develop meaningful connections to Judaism through these books.
