Firepit Minyan

Website: www.meetup.com/firepitminyan.
Contact: Robin Chotzinoff
The Firepit Minyan meets in South Austin backyards to experience Judaism. Though beliefs range from agnostic to true believer, the group embraces the Jewish spirit of humor, arguing with God and the pursuit of menschiness. To paraphrase Mordecai Kaplan: Tradition has a vote here, but not a veto. You are invited to join this homey, messy, spiritual, funky, musical, exuberant, all-ages community.

Selah

Website: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/Selah/217908001571943
Contact: Rabbi Rochel Kobrin
rabbikobrin@caa-austin.org | 512.735.8484
Selah was born out of a desire to reimagine Jewish life in South Austin. The group seeks to create a living Judaism that is infused with the wisdom of the tradition and yet experienced in radically new ways. Selah yearns to create a South Austin community that is vibrant and meaningful, informal, soulful and committed to issues of social justice. The group is sponsored by Congregation Agudas Achim and an IF grant from the Jewish Community Association of Austin.
