Case Management
Families who are caring for an elderly, chronically ill, or disabled family member have multiple needs and stresses. JFS staff can help families cope with these stresses, and can help with formulating and arranging a plan of care that will include available support services from community agencies.
Crisis Intervention
Crises such as divorce, loss of a job, death, and other traumas can occur in any family. If family conflict or emotional turmoil requires professional assistance in restoring a family to normal, JFS staff can help.
Educational Programs
JFS offers educational programs on a variety of topics including parenting, stress management, caring for an aging parent, bereavement, and dealing with teenagers. Check with JFS about current offerings.
Emergency Assistance
JFS may assist clients with emergency expenses including rent, food, and prescription medication.
Information and Referral
JFS provides information about the availability of educational, social, financial, and medical resources in the community. Staff is also available by phone to answer questions about services in the Jewish community and in the larger Austin community. Staff will also arrange referrals to other providers where appropriate.
