Evan Handler will kick off The Austin Jewish Book Fair with his hilarious and engaging memoir It’s Only Temporary: The Good News and the Bad News of Being Alive.

About the Author Extremely popular with Jewish audiences for his role as Charlotte’s husband, Harry Goldenblatt, on Sex and the City, Evan Handler is an accomplished journalist, screenwriter, and the acclaimed author of two memoirs. His first, Time on Fire: My Comedy of Terrors, details his unlikely recovery from leukemia and his escape from the clutches of those supposedly devoted to its treatment. In addition to his many television roles, Handler has acted on stage, in feature films, and currently stars with David Duchovney in Showtime’s hit series Californication.

About the Book In his new book, It’s Only Temporary: The Good News and the Bad News of Being Alive, Handler presents an incredibly honest (and funny) view into his journey through life after cancer.  In his delightful conversational tone, Handler leads the reader through his dating mishaps and career successes as if discussing them with a pal over a few drinks.  You will find yourself laughing at his self-deprecation, appreciating his blatant honesty, and cheering him on as he finally discovers true happiness and learns to find value in the journey that led him there.
